Smart Manufacturing for the World | Changhong Intelligence Painting Project for IVECO Spain Officially Launches

Recently, Fidia—the Italian subsidiary of Changhong Intelligence—successfully won the bid for the IVECO painting general contract project in Spain. The project focuses on the painting of heavy- and light-duty truck cabs, with a planned annual capacity of 56,000 units. It utilizes advanced process technology to enable flexible, mixed-model production, meeting the high manufacturing standards of the European market.

At the project kickoff meeting, Project Manager Liu Jiansen outlined how the project—grounded in Europe’s stringent environmental and production standards—achieves two core technological breakthroughs. First, in the realm of production logistics, an AGV-based painting conveyance system is deployed in the color-grouping zone; replacing traditional fixed equipment, this system enables dynamic vehicle body scheduling and flexible grouping, thereby enhancing color-change efficiency and production resilience while offering easier maintenance and greater layout flexibility. Second, regarding environmental processes, the facility incorporates an RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer) and VOCs incineration system to thoroughly purify painting exhaust emissions; this solution ensures lower energy consumption and higher efficiency, fully complying with European energy-saving and environmental standards. By integrating intelligent conveyance and green technologies, the project establishes a benchmark production line for commercial vehicle painting overseas, showcasing the company's capabilities in project execution and core process R&D.

This kickoff meeting served not only to outline the technical plan but also to rally the team and build momentum; heads of various business units delivered detailed reports covering aspects such as schedule management, quality systems, and construction safety. True partners are undeterred by vast distances; this meeting marks the official entry of the IVECO new plant's paint shop project into the substantive implementation phase.
